Abstract

Employees as individuals in an organization are the most important part because they have a big role in determining the success of achieving organizational goals. As the most important organizational asset, the functions and roles of employees are needed to maximize performance, productivity, and organizational effectiveness through efficient working methods so as to generate added value for the company. The implementation of compensation policies in several companies is carried out on the basis of various demands for employee welfare and keeps away from problems such as the emergence of employee intentions to change jobs. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of compensation, job demand and job characteristics on employee retention. The population in this study were all employees with a total of 94 and all were used as respondents. The data analysis technique used multiple linear regression analysis using SPSS version 26 program. The findings of this study are that the compensation variable has a positive and significant effect on employee retention. The better the compensation, the stronger the employee has the intention to stay in the organization. Job demand variable has a positive and significant effect on employee retention. Job demand that is too high will make employees change jobs. Job characteristics variables have a positive and significant effect on employee retention. Job characteristics that are too high will make employees have the desire to change jobs
